Make sure every device is signed in to the same Bookmuse account (Bookmuse Settings → Account), with the same Apple, Google or email sign-in. Devices catch up when Bookmuse opens or comes back to the screen, or when you pull down on Home. Settings → Account shows the sync status; if it says it couldn't sync, check your connection and tap Try Again. Large books can take a few minutes to arrive on a new device.

Apple Translation works offline once a language is downloaded. The first lookup in a new language pair asks to download it from Apple. If a download doesn't start, check your connection, or manage languages in the Settings app → Apps → Translate → Downloaded Languages.

Apple Translation gives the translation only. Roots, meanings, follow-ups and Ask AI come from BookMuse AI, which needs you to be signed in. Signed in and still seeing only a translation? BookMuse AI may be offline, or you may have reached its daily or monthly limit. Try again later.

Open the Settings app → Apps → Default Apps → Translation and choose Bookmuse. This needs iOS or iPadOS 26.

Bookmuse opens DRM-free EPUB, Kindle (MOBI, AZW3), FB2, TXT and Markdown books. Books bought from stores that add DRM can't be opened. If a DRM-free book still fails, email it to us (or a link to it) and we'll take a look.

To delete your account and everything in it, go to Bookmuse Settings → Account → Delete Account, or follow these steps if you can't open the app. To keep the account but clear your library on all your devices, use Erase All Data in Bookmuse Settings. See the privacy policy for more.
